We enjoyed a milder Winter compared to last year's, although
it has certainly been a bit windy these past few weeks! We
verticut the greens Tuesday to get them prepped for the Spring.
We also applied a regulator to suppress the Poana. As the Spring
goes on, expect to see some work being done on some of the
greens on the front nine. November 23, 2007
We had a very good overseed this year. The weather stayed dry
enough this month to give the seed the opportunity to germinate.
If you haven't been out here in a while, now is a great time to
check out the course. November 9, 2007
This week we focused primarily on cleaning up every bunker on
the golf course. Additionally, the fairway bunker on the right
side of hole 7 is being converted to a grass bunker. We seeded
and fertilized it yesterday and expect it to be a formidable
trap in two to three weeks. With the new Sports Grille open
after dark, we'll also be installing new lighting for the
clubhouse parking lot over the next two weeks. November 4, 2007
We just finished overseeding our fairways, greens, tees, and
green surrounds for the winter. I want to thank everyone for
keeping the golf carts on the paths last week as we go through
the transition. We're currently in the process of edging and
cleaning up the bunkers, and we also finished putting in all the
new yardage markers, including gold 250 yard markers on the par
5s. Next we'll be
repainting and restenciling the concrete markers on the par 3s.
We're starting to include seed in the sand bottles now, so
please take the time to fill in your divots. October 12, 2007
It's been an interesting season to say the least. The
unseasonably cool temperatures and record rainfall have given us
quite a challenge! Just before the Cedar Park Chamber of
commerce Tourney on Sept. 29th, we put in brand new yardage
stakes on every hole on the course. 3 weeks ago, we overseeded
our greens with Saber and Poa Trivialis, and we plan to overseed
the fairways, teeboxes, and green surrounds on October 29th.
Expect the course to be closed on the 29th, and cart path only
on the 30th and 31st. We've got some ground under repair on
2 and 12 fairways, and on 4 and 5 near the greens. |
